The site you are reading is a fully functional demo reel. Everything you see here was written from scratch by yours truly using PHP5 and MySQL5 for the backend database.
I have been working with Internet related technologies since the early 1990s. After graduating as computer engineering technologist I spent 13 years working at an Internet Service Provider starting with end-user support, progressing to system administration and ending with custom application programming. Having knowledge of all sides of the Internet eco-system is a great boon when developing web applications.
Some things are more important than money. Having worked at an ISP for so long I am integrally aware of the havoc caused by disreputable individuals (spammers and other blackhats, greedy "web developers", pyramid schemers, etc.). In this business the one thing that truly defines you is your reputation and I have built mine over the last decade on hard work, attention to detail and commitment to the client. I have installed, written custom modules or solved problems for Joomla! / Mambo, VirtueMart, Gallery, Zen-Cart, osCommerce, phpBB, Drupal, TYPOlight, Wordpress (amongst others) and numerous pre-existing custom applications. I grok code and am able to solve problems that cause many other "web developers" to throw up their hands in defeat.
I have installed everything from the server operating system itself (various Linux distros + FreeBSD) to server side applications (from source code) including MySQL, Apache, PHP, Exim, Mailman, ProFTPD and Wu-FTPD amongst others. I have extensive UNIX shell experience and am not afraid of the command line when needed.
Security concerns have never been more important than in these days of ubiquitous Internet access. If you require security auditing of an existing application, application research and recommendation (with security in mind) or troubleshooting after problems occur, look no further.
Progress is never ending. If you have a legacy application authored in PHP4 or below, I can assist in migrating it to PHP5 (and beyond). Likewise, queries relaying on older MySQL versions may need rewriting when migrating to MySQL5. I can help.
I make no pretense of being a graphic artist. If your needs are primarily to do with graphics and page layout, I am likely not the solution to your needs. That said, I can work with your designer to integrate their layout into whatever dynamic application you need.
Unlike most other professional industries, web development has no accreditation system.
